We’re quantifying symptoms to provide better, smarter, individualized health care.

We know that the time between visits is a mystery, recall is imperfect, and data powers better decision-making. Amissa is closing the trial-and-error gap in prescribing and care planning to help patients feel better faster.

Our Story

Amissa Health was founded in 2017 in Charlotte, North Carolina with the goal of advancing Alzheimer’s research through real-world data collection. Since its inception, Amissa has powered the collection of wearable data across the US and partnered with top institutions. In 2024, Amissa received an NIH SBIR grant in partnership with Washington University in Saint Louis to monitor the health and behaviors of older adults and develop machine learning models that predict preclinical Alzheimer’s disease.

While deeply supporting Alzheimer’s research, the team discovered the early science suggesting links between dementia and menopause. Two-thirds of global dementia patients are women and recent evidence indicates that changes in female hormones could play a role in these diagnoses.

There are currently no digital biomarkers identifying when perimenopause starts, the severity of symptoms, and correlations with other health issues that arise as women age. Amissa decided to leverage our expertise in developing novel biomarkers to address this gap in science and advance the care and treatment of women in midlife and beyond.
